We are going to freeze to death. That was the drumbeat back in the early 70s. Then along came global warming and the earth was melting. And now this…
The “Arctic Ice Sheet,” the passage from the Atlantic to the Pacific, has been packed with ice the past year. Actually, it has increased by 29%.
Not only that, the autumn re-freeze is ‘bout to start and the ice sheet has spread like a bed o’ wild flowers. It’s like grandma knitted a huge blanket that covers Europe from the Canadian Islands to Russia.
The entire area has been packed with ice all year. No cruises for all those folks with yachts and plenty o’ time. Remember the ship that was ice-bound all those days?
The ice sheet should have dissolved by now, instead scientists report we are headed for a period of global cooling? I feel like I’m on a seesaw.
Garfield the cat gave some good advice once:
When the goin’ gets tough … take a nap till it blows over.
