Just Another Day in a Robot’s Paradise

You crawl out of bed, jump into the shower, grab a cup of coffee, head out to work, manage to get through the day, fight the traffic back home, gobble something to eat, peep a little TV and it’s off to snoozeland. Next day it starts all over again.

Well, I’m here to tell ya there are ways to escape the monotony.

These are some:

  • Drive a different route to work
  • Take a walk at lunch
  • Eat at park instead of work (this worked great for me)
  • Put health bars in pocket for snack
  • Post bulletin board at work for any kind of ads, news
  • Not a reader, start – one page a day
  • Take a shower at night instead of morning (I still switch)
  • If single, eat with family or friend once a week
  • Change the day you do laundry (I never do it same day)
  • Smile, smile, smile it WILL make you feel better

Not to be forgotten…

You stay-at-home moms have the hardest job on the planet. I learned that from my granddaughter; she also taught me that we are never too old to be a playmate. Brittany was splashing around in her lil’ pool one day and looked up, “You can get in even if you do have your clothes on.” So, I did.

Fun things we do:

  • Play in hose and sprinklers
  • Have a computer – check out http://disney.go.com or
    http://www.pbs.org (click on kids)
  • Take stuffed animals for walk in umbrella stroller
  • Create pictures with glitter glue – this is a favorite
  • Put pics on fridge and make scrapbook with three-ring binder
  • Watch funny hedgehog videos on PC – another fave
  • Smile, smile, smile it WILL make you feel better

Do you have more tips to add? Be glad to add them to list.
