I don’t know why but decided to scroll down for a second, take quick look at the local stuff for minute. And wadda ya know, there it was, this short little article out of Tallahassee. Been goin’ to therapy for my shoulder so I missed it on Twitter.
The gist of the article was that a group of people had found a way out for of the money woes for us Floridians. The state legislature wouldn’t have to cut the education budget or health care. Oh really?
I’m sorry, I keep reading that we should be humble when writing on our blogs, but the most important value for me is being true to myself. And I’m really p… Don’t even get me started about health care. And taxes!
Look, I’m a big online shopper, have been for a long time. It’s great: you can get a mug o’ coffee, sit in your jammies, buy things you can’t get in the stores. What’s not to love?
Now we have this group who wants to mess that up. Oh yea, that’s how they are going to solve Florida’s money problems. We would have to pay a special Internet buying tax on everything. And you know that once it happens in Florida the rest of the country will follow.
Can you guess who came up with this outrageous idea? Our good ol’ buddies AARP. I naïvely joined this organization believing it was out for the people’s benefit. It wasn’t long before I cut up my card; big government and profit is what they’re all about in my humble opinion.
So what do you think? Ready to pay some big online shopping taxes?
