Friday morning my husband ran into our home office and said: “Hon, the rocket is going up in thirty seconds.” I grabbed my Kodak Easyshare Z710 and ran outside. This is the photo I took from the end of our driveway which is across the river and ten miles away from Cape Canaveral.
I was out there Wednesday morning only the launch was scrubbed because of the weather. Thursday the rocket couldn’t go because of a fuel leak. Can you believe that twenty minutes before this launch there was a concern about clouds?
This rocket, a Delta 2, will deploy satellites for the Space Tracking and Surveillance System. They will be used by the U.S. Missile Defense Agency to test the “birth to death” tracking of missiles from launch to re-entry.
Still taking those steps for mankind.
