“We are anxious to share this story, it’s going to be a humdinger…” Sheriff David Morgan
How often do you hear of genuine people actually sharing the wealth? Well, Melanie and Byrd Billings truly opened their hearts and their home to children with disabilities and problems , although they each had children of their own from previous marriages.
They restructured the house to accommodate the needs of the children with cameras installed in every room, the driveway was extended to keep the kids from running into the street, and the swimming pool behind the house was gated for safety.
Yet, there was no protection for the parents when Wayne Colidron and Leonard Gonzalez Jr. broke into the house and shot them to death … as the children slept in their beds.
This past week end, July 11, 2009, Leonard Gonzalez Sr. waited in a red van outside as his son and Coldiron broke into the Billing’s home to commit robbery. Only something went horribly wrong and robbery turned to murder.
Two more senseless killings … all in the name of greed … and sixteen children are left without their parents.
What are your feelings? How should these men be punished?
