Texting Champion was Destined to Win

What you get in life depends on how bad you want it…

…and Kate Moore desperately wanted to win the LG U.S. National Texting Championship trophy.

The 15-year-old already had a habit of 14,000 texts-per-month. Kinda addicted, one could say. Another thing, this was her first cell phone, only had it eight months. Still, the competition was fierce.

The teen had to be lightning fast, text blindfolded while moving through an obstacle course. And then, she had to text three looong phrases without mistakes on the required abbreviations, capitalization or punctuation. Wheew!

When the competition was over the girl from Des Moines, Iowa had reached her goal. She won! Yea, the $50,000 was great and all that publicity and that really cool new cell phone. Yet nothing compared to being the winner… standing there in front of millions of people on national TV holding the “U.S. National Texting Championship trophy.”
