Wait just a minute here. I’m old enough to remember when buying a TV was pretty simple. You went to the store and picked out a TV, selected an antenna, and you were good to go.
Then technology advanced to the point where everything went digital. Still no problem, it was time for a new TV anyway.
But along comes the government aaaand—the people are gouged again. When I first saw the image above it made me realize something, everybody bought their own antennas, why not their own converter boxes?
In that Stimulus Bill signed by the president: $650 million to give Digital-to-Analog box coupons. Why? Guess who’s footin’ the bill? Does taxpayer sound familiar?
The original bill for this conversion was mandated way back in 2005. Plenty of time for the stores to stock up.
