Sept. 1, 2008
“Don’t Hate Me ‘Cause I’m Beautiful.” That’s what this ‘honey’ would say if she could talk. Nearly two weeks ago the Fed Ex truck pulled into our driveway and immediately my heart began to race. It was here—the Dell XPS 420.
Only there was a problem. I had just returned home from eye surgery and was forced into bed. It would be the next day before Ms. Beautiful would get a once over. Not only that, she sat on the desk for two weeks before the technician arrived. We still have the other computer and needed a router installed.
Alas! The ‘Silver Streak’ is up and running. Although it was scary the first time she made that Internet connection. PC World is right: the Dell XPS 420 is on of the best products to pass through the portals of 2008. It’s lightning fast and sooo quiet; I had not expected that. Also, it was surprising how easy it is to set up.
One more thing: I was totally prepared to hate Vista. Guess what? I’m likin’ it, just takes a little gettin’ use to is all.
